Intumescent Paint
PinkShield is a Calgary, Alberta-made intumescent paint
that expands in size when exposed to heat or flame.
It creates an insulating barrier between substrate and the flame, slowing the spread of fire. When applied to wood framing, PinkShield dramatically reduces the surface burning characteristics of the material making it slower to burn. Depending upon how thick it is applied, the coating can slow the burn rate by 10 minutes or more.
Intumescent Paint
PinkShield is also formulated with a special mildew resistant fungicide. Tests have shown that the dry film formation of PinkShield is more resistant to mildew than uncoated lumber.
